Brevo

Google AppScript

automating the sheets rather than filling them

You are not expected to know these already. We teach them. Python is on the list because some analysis is too large for a spreadsheet, not because you need to arrive knowing how to write it.

What we look for

None of this is on a marksheet.

No commerce degree, no certificate and no programming. These four are the questions on the form. All four ask what you have already done, not what you would do. Please answer from your own experience.

01

You have worked out a real problem yourself

A project, a family business, a college society's accounts, a process at an internship. What was wrong, what you did to find out, what you concluded.

This is a small version of the job. We want to see that you went and checked real information. If your answer has no step where you looked something up, counted something, or asked somebody, it is not enough.

02

You read

Fiction, psychology or business. Name them, and for one, what you took from it and where you disagreed.

Fiction is accepted, and so is psychology, because much of this work is understanding what a person means rather than what they said. We are not counting titles. A list with nothing you disagreed with tells us nothing.

03

You have pursued a hobby seriously

Music, sport, dance, art. How long, what level, and a competition, grade or performance to point at.

Finding out why customers do not buy takes weeks of slow, repetitive checking. A person who continued one hobby even after it stopped being exciting will finish that work. A certificate is not required, but a level or a competition we can verify is useful.

04

You have argued a position in front of other people

Debate, Model UN, elocution, a society, a panel, a group discussion at an internship. Topic, the side you took, how it went.

You will tell a company owner that their business is not working the way they believe. They will disagree, in their own office. The first time you do that should not be in front of a client. It does not need to have been a formal debate, and it does not need to have gone well.

What the work is

You find out why a company is losing customers.

Every company keeps a record of its enquiries, quotations and orders. Most never study those records properly. That is what you do.

Here is one example. A factory sends 60 price quotations a month and gets 9 orders. The owner thinks the price is too high, reduces it, and nothing changes.

You take the same 60 quotations and group them by how quickly each one was sent. Quotations sent within one day win 38% of the time. Quotations sent after five days win 4%. The prices in both groups are similar. So the delay is the problem, not the price.

Then you calculate what it is worth. At the faster rate, those 60 enquiries would give about 23 orders a month instead of 9. The delay is costing 14 orders every month.

Before you report it, you call some of the customers who did not buy, to check that your answer is correct. Then you tell the owner.

The four things you will do

01

Group the data and find the pattern

400 enquiries in one file tell you nothing. You group them: by order size, by product, by region, by the stage where each one stopped. Choosing the right grouping is most of the work.

02

Check it with the customers

A pattern in a spreadsheet is only a theory. You call the customers who did not buy and ask them directly. Sometimes they give a different reason, and then you start the analysis again.

03

Calculate what it is worth

An owner cannot use the sentence “we are slow”. An owner can use “quotations sent after five days win 4% instead of 38%, which is 14 orders a month”. One sentence, one number, one decision.

04

Measure again after one month

You write down the number before the change and check it again a month later. If it did not improve, your answer was wrong, and you say so. Most people never check, so most advice is never proved right or wrong.

If you were looking at AI Engineer

Same office and same hours. Different work.

In AI Engineer you decide what each term means before the software is written, and then you build it, using Next.js, Node, MongoDB, Supabase, Redis and Prisma. It asks for a public debate you can show proof of, and ten business books.

This role asks whether you can find out why a company loses customers. It needs no coding and no reading list. People move between the two roles here. Choose the one whose daily work you would prefer. Read AI Engineer.

Apply

Five fields, and your interview dates are fixed.

The four questions above are what we look for. You do not answer them here: the mindmap and the video after this are where you show us, and they are a better test than four boxes on a phone.

Any question at all, before or after you apply.

About the role, the hours, the stipend, the criteria, what happens after you apply, whether it fits alongside your classes, anything. No question is too small and asking one counts against you in no way. We reply by email, usually the same day.
